Web 3.0 technology workshop at the E-Commerce Congress 2009

From January 20-21, Smart Information Systems attended the E-Commerce Congress 2009 (Online Handel) in Mannheim, Germany. The congress, which is directed at executives in the e-commerce business, focuses on online marketing and has become a must-event within the German e-commerce industry.

Smart Information Systems presented its products “Smart Assistant” and “Smart Finder” at a stand in the main hall of the Mannheim congress center. Additionally, Markus Linder, founding member and CEO of Smart Information Systems, was invited to hold a presentation on the topic of Web 3.0 also known as Semantic Web based e-commerce.

In his presentation Markus Linder showed, how e-commerce portals can use the Semantic Web technology to become more costumer-oriented and cost efficient. Markus Linder explained: “With the use of Web 3.0 technology consumers are able to find suitable products more easily. E-commerce supplier should get ready for the use of the next generation Web-technology”. By using an example from the tourism industry he underlined the importance and potential of the technology and showed the advantages for e-commerce suppliers and consumers.

The next presentation held by Markus Linder will be at the Online Marketing Summit in Wiesbaden (April 28-29). Together with Univ. Prof. Hepp from the University of Innsbruck he will hold a workshop on Semantic Web based e-commerce.
