Semantic Standards raise international interest
There is some good news concerning the promotion of "semantic web infrastructure" for the presentation of customer-oriented offers on the Internet:Smart Information Systems is currently developing so-called ontologies, which are freely available standards that are used as a basis for the efficient description of events and touristic offers. This is done within the framework of the initiative "ebSemantics".
The first results were presented at the international standardization workshop of CEN and raised great interest. Various portals like Firmen A-Z of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce plan to use the ontology, which can be downloaded here (includes documentation).
